Why there is no contact form

A contact form would collect and transmit your personal data through this website, which would break the promise made in our privacy policy that this site collects nothing at all. E-mail leaves you in control: you decide what to send, from which address, and you keep your own copy of it.

What to write to us about

  • Corrections. If something here is wrong or out of date, please tell us. Include the page address and, if you can, a source. The corrections procedure explains what happens next and how quickly; substantive corrections are published in the corrections log. Vendors and their competitors are as welcome to report errors as readers are.
  • Data-protection requests. Access, rectification, erasure, objection. See the privacy policy for what we actually hold, which is very little. To locate a server-log entry we would need an approximate date, time and IP address.
  • Disclosure and advertising concerns. If you think a commercial link here is inadequately marked, we want to know, and we will fix it.
  • Accessibility barriers. Tell us the page, what went wrong and, if you know them, the assistive technology and browser. See the accessibility statement.
  • Legal and intellectual-property matters, including trademark and copyright notices.
  • Permission requests to reproduce our text or our diagrams.

What we cannot help with

  • Norton support. We are not Norton, not a Norton reseller and not connected to Gen Digital Inc. in any way. We cannot access your subscription, issue a refund, cancel an auto-renewal or troubleshoot an installation. Contact Norton through the support channels on their own site.
  • A live security incident. If you are dealing with an ongoing compromise, contact a qualified professional. Readers in the Czech Republic can find national guidance from NÚKIB. Our guide to fraudulent messages has a short list of immediate steps if you have just clicked something.
  • Guest posts, link insertions and paid placements. We do not accept them, at any price. See the editorial policy. Solicitations of this kind will not receive a reply.

Please do not send us special categories of personal data — health information, political opinions and the like. We have no use for them and would only have to delete them.
